Purpose of the role: To support the office administration.

Principal Functions and Responsibilities

  • Opening of building and office in the morning
  • Closing and locking of building if working until 5.00pm
  • Greet visitors and assist with enquiries
  • Manage incoming calls, emails and general enquiries
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support across the school
  • Assist tutors with their requests
  • Processing course applications
  • Prepare enrolments and class registers.
  • Prepare files for tutors at the beginning of each term.
  • Assist with finding replacement staff i.e. tutors and models in the event that they are unable to attend their respective class.
  • Alert or contact the correct person if there are building maintenance issues.

The Shop

  • Assist in art shop
  • Monitor stock levels
  • Order shop materials when necessary

This list is not exhaustive and may be added to or adjusted as required and at the discretion of the Principal.

Essential Experience

  • Recent experience in working with members of the public.
  • Recent experience in the use of Microsoft Office.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience of working in the art world or in an educational setting.
  • Experience of working in a shop.

Essential skills

  • Good time keeping.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, be articulate, have good verbal and written English and good numeracy.
  • Be adaptable and flexible, able to respond, collaborate and work well with others within a small but energetic staff team.
  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Be able to relate to and support staff and students within the school and to respond. to enquiries from students and members of the public with patience and discretion.
  • Good organisational abilities, possess initiative and have excellent time management ability.
